Joseph A. Rice represents Milwaukee County’s Sixth Supervisory District which includes the Villages of Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, River Hills and Whitefish Bay and portions of the Cities of Glendale and Milwaukee. He is currently Vice Chairman of the Judiciary, Safety and General Services Committee and a member of the Economic and Community Development and Health and Human Needs Committees.

Supervisor Rice received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and a J.D. from Marquette University Law School. He was a member of the staff of Wisconsin Governor Lee Dreyfus and served as Deputy Director of the Upper Great Lakes Regional Commission.

Following the private practice of law, he worked in pubic affairs consulting and founded Tries & Rice, LLC, a public relations and public affairs firm based in Milwaukee.

Supervisor Rice served as a Whitefish Bay Village Trustee from 1990 to 2004 and has been active in a variety of community and civic organizations. He previously served as a member and Chair of the Milwaukee Area Technical College Board of Managers (1994-1999); Chair of the Friends of Channels 10/36 Public Television (2001-present); Board of Directors of Journey House (1999-present); and on the Board of Directors of the Badger Association for the Blind Foundation.

Supervisor Rice and his wife, Anne, are the parents of three daughters, Sarah, Elizabeth and Rachel. They reside in Whitefish Bay where they are members of St. Monica Congregation.
